"Reservoir of liquid water found deep in Martian rock. Scientists have discovered a reservoir of liquid water on Mars - deep in the rocky outer crust of the planet. Searching for stuff out is space, has nearly always been centred on the search for ET life. The probability of finding life is not really quantifiable, because calculating the likelihood requires using parameters which are extremely variable and requires assumptions over which we have no prior knowledge. We have assumed that conditions for life, must be broadly consistent with our own on Earth. However, we are finding organisms that can live and flourish in extreme conditions on Earth. Until now. Water is considered one of the major elements in the creation an sustainment of life. I suppose another spacecraft will have to be sent to sample the water on Mars to see if it contains any life.

I expect it will be decades before anything is mined on Mars. I predict that it's even more distant in time than our new stand being built. No, seriously. And if they find life on Mars, their next - even bigger - challenge will be to find life in Nathan Ferguson.
