don't take this the wrong way but I love Jordan Ayew - one of my all time favourite palace players - untouchable in terms of commitment to the cause - up there with Jim Cannon and David Wright. I hope he stays as a squad player but if it's better for all concerned he moves on I will humbly wish him the very best.

I know we did have a David Wright, but surely you mean Ian?

He also scored the winner at their place the same season. In fact his goals kept us up that season and won him player of the season.

No, I meant what I said. When we were really struggling when Doogie became manager he played Wright as a sweeper and he was everywhere, filling all the wholes, he had the skill of Calvin Andrew but the football brain of Franz Beckenbauer - he was Marmite at the time, but I was a huge fan. I think he's assistant at Ipswich now - one day he'll get a lower league management job and I'll get big odds on whichever team winning whichever division they're in.

Yes I think I’ll have to respect your opinion on that one because although not the worst player we’ve ever had from memory, I don’t remember thinking he reminds me of Der Kaiser

In a game of two halves.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

You should have a full stop at the end there too. Innit.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
