don't take this the wrong way but I love Jordan Ayew - one of my all time favourite palace players - untouchable in terms of commitment to the cause - up there with Jim Cannon and David Wright. I hope he stays as a squad player but if it's better for all concerned he moves on I will humbly wish him the very best. I know we did have a David Wright, but surely you mean Ian?

When we were really struggling when Doogie became manager he played Wright as a sweeper and he was everywhere, filling all the wholes, he had the skill of Calvin Andrew but the football brain of Franz Beckenbauer - he was Marmite at the time, but I was a huge fan. I think he's assistant at Ipswich now - one day he'll get a lower league management job and I'll get big odds on whichever team winning whichever division they're in.

Yes I think I’ll have to respect your opinion on that one because although not the worst player we’ve ever had from memory, I don’t remember thinking he reminds me of Der Kaiser
