I was thinking back to 11 or so months ago. There was much optimism for the new season with the team finishing the previous season so well under Hodgson. Edouard started the season with a flourish with some forecasting a 15-20 goal season. Now look what happened over the subsequent period. The optimism around Hodgson dissipated over lame performances and results and he was replaced. It’s what makes football fascinating and frustrating in equal measures, all the uncertainty. Where we will be in a year and who will be involved remains a mystery.

Where we will be in a year and who will be involved remains a mystery. I often like to assert things with confidence. I also think it’s very hard not to be emboldened by others either responding enthusiastically or posting on different subjects with sentiments that reflect my own thinking. The reality is however that we’ll never know and although some of my predictions/theories turn out (often happily) to be complete nonsense, it’s the very nature of the game. How many 100s of millions if not billions of pounds are spent on players who turn out to be useless, for instance? Let alone the thoughts of just another fan! It’s part of the game and part of why we love it! All that said, even England losing in another final didn’t bother me too much as I’m very much looking forward to the season ahead! COYP!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Probably the only sure thing is that if Glasner starts the season as well as he finished last one, he’ll be touted for every available job. Hopefully he sticks with us for a while before taking over at Bayern once they decide it’s time to ditch the current incumbent.

"I don't know" is a very underrated answer to a lot of questions. More people should say it imho. The OP's thread could apply to life in general not just life as a Palace fan. Top 8 finish this year and be interesting to see how Glasner treats the cups.

I know he’s got a different squad and a club which may have different priorities, but you’d think at least HE would be up for the cups after his success with Frankfurt

I know nothing about: However, after 5 pints of Stella Artois, I turn into a bit of a football guru.
I disengage, I turn the page. |
