Been watching this series about a fella doing the rounds of uk canals.
Robbie Cummins is the chaps name and he lives on his narrow boat called
naughty lass. Explains a bit of history of canals and locks. Bit slow when you start watching it but is the most inoffensive show I've watched in ages. No politics, moralising or lecturing. He is a bit unlucky but you grow to like him. If you want an hour of therapeutic watching this is the one.

What a coincidence, we went away for a few days last week and only had free view where we were staying so I was struggling to find something to watch and I stumbled across this. I watch a fair bit of van life and canal boat channels on YouTube. As you say it’s a nice easy watch and I’ve got a bit of a fascination with it all and I quite envy these people.
I’ve got canal boat diaries set to watch now I’m home, things like this are good for me to watch late before I go to bed, helps me relax rather than watching some sort of murder and mayhem before I hit the sack

I enjoy watching this too. Such a gentle chap who leads a gentle way of life.

Mrs POG and I have spent 4 holidays on hired canal boat holidays when I was working and I have to say they were some of the best holidays we've had. An exceptional way to slow down from the hectic hurley burley of working life.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Another poster on here lived on his canal boat for many years until this year when he sold it.

It's a great life but you have to get on with your partner if you have a row it's not like you stomp off to the garden shed.

As for a holiday, it's great for the kids and the family dog.

If he sees this he might post about his adventures.

I did a quick search to see what people were talking about. I got a bit of a shock - then I noticed I'd forgotten to type the "c" at the beginning.

I believe the terms are bow and stern.

Dear Diary, yesterday was a lovely day, so I opened the throttle up on the boat along a straight section of canal. The ripples in the water sparkled and the fishermen on the bank were waving most joyously and vigorously as we sped past. How friendly the riverfolk are.

I disengage, I turn the page.

Like a speedboat on the Norfolk Broads. We all love it
