'Top Israel lobbyist Luke Akehurst bags Labour safe seat'. Just what Hartlepool needs, a lobbyist for a foreign power.

I think the way that Abbott has been treated by the Labour leadership is pretty shabby. They could have dealt with this many months ago and yet it is obvious they no longer want her as an MP. Now that said it does seem that she is not well and had been ill for a number for years. Assuming that this is true she should not be standing as an MP as she is conning her voters by taking a job that she is unable to do due to ill health.
It works for Biden

It works for Biden Yup. It wasn't a party political comment. You often read of MPs and their brave battle with a serious illness but no one seems brave enough to question why that MP stood again knowing that they were ill and choosing not to share that with the voters. MPs are temps it's a 5 year contract if they know they can't do the job due to ill health then they should step aside. That may seem harsh but I have worked as a contractor if you can't do the job there is sympathy but they will find someone else. MPs that stand down do get a package and if that needs to be improved for those that are sick fair enough. But it is wrong to stand again and then not put in the hours.
