Now that was smash and grab. First time in the highlights I haven't seen Imray cross the half-way line and Rak-Sayki was anonymous. Anyways, great win and one which Whitworth will be replaying in 50 years time

For me the big difference in the teams / display was that PSV were stronger, faster & more alert to what was going on around them & what they wanted to achieve- Mark Bright was saying that they play in the Dutch professional second division (against grown men) rather than Palace playing in the U21 PL2 league Palace had Ozoh / Umah / JRS all go down late in the second half with cramp against the fitter stronger PSV-None of the PSV lads showed any indications of cramp - if the game had gone to extra time there would have been only one winner. Clearly PSV had maybe 6 clear chances & at least as many half chances & without an inspired performance from Joe & some gutsy hanging on in there all across the park the score would have reflected that- As one of the other posters has said - it really was a smash & grab - got to say it the HF were loud & present throughout the match-

Get rid of the Celtic and Rangers domination. It's about that level and I wouldn't want to piss off the Vanarama sides by putting them in there.

The Academy would benefit from a Glasner-style make-over, imo. The U21s have not been that great this season and this result, despite the victory, showed their flaws in fitness and technique. If the changes to our first team could be reflected in the academy that would be a result.

I went last night and also last season. Very similar. My thoughts were that Palace were poor. I don't even remember us having a shot and if PSV could hit a barn door it would have been 5-0. For me Whitworth was the clear MOM and Imray did alright. Rak-Saki - same as last years game was basically non existent. I know he's had a long term injury but he should be head and shoulders above the rest. I just can't see him making the cut at Palace. Interestingly, I noticed him having a long chat with a PSV player on his own whilst the rest of the squad were celebrating. I wonder if he was enquiring about the quality of the Dutch league as a plan B. Ozoh didn't do an awful lot, but we already know he's a good player. He needs a season out on loan in Championship. I've been impressed with Whitworth every time I've seen him, particularly his composure on the ball - however I think his height is going to limit him. Anyway, sorry to be a miserable git, fantastic to see Palace lift a trophy. I was expecting a bit more from our kids.

Regardless of how well or badly we played (I did not go and did not see it) I am very proud that Palace picked up the very coveted and prestigious U21 level trophy. To have only been competing in this tournament for 2 years and made 2 finals and won 1 cup is nothing short of incredible when you look at the competition who were trying very hard to win it.
