Looking forward to this evening's U23-final at Selhurst tonight. Will be a good pre-season game for next year in the Premier League. Apparently most of our current players are off to bigger teams for Champions League football. Glasner and Dougie off too.

Looking forward to Paddy managing Jeff Schlupp and the brightest of tonight's talent.

My take on things:

Man City: Sit on the bench - £100m Jack Grealish does not get to start, Cole Palmer not good enough, Calvin Phillips career in tatters.

Man Utd: Need 11 new players a new manager and a new stadium. No European football.

Liverpool: Klopp leaving for good reason, current star players fading Salah, Van Dyke, Robertson. Replacement big buys are a shocking waste of money - Nunes, Gakpo, Ferguson etc. Youth players nowhere near good enough. Arne Slot is bringing his large backroom team with him, who could not win the Eredivise. Will go the way of other genius Dutch Managers and sacked by Christmas as 'continuity Klopp' not possible - 10+ years in the widerness staring them in the face once more.

Newcastle: Cannot buy their way into the big boys club at the moment due to FFP, who wants to live in Newcastle, racist fans, Saudi owners.

Arsenal: Potentially the only viable option.

Chelsea: Are a bust flush, 9-year contracts to overpaid players. Will change their manager at some stage before Christmas when it becomes apparent that Potch is not the Messiah.

Spurs: Small team mentality, tin-pot owners.

Aston Villa: Champions League football, well at least 6 games (See Wilf at Galatasary)

Nuff said - stay at Palace, you know it makes sense, exciting times.

Like somethin' is brewin' and 'bout to begin.
Can't put me finger on what lies in store,
But I feel what's to happen all happened before."

All along the Holmesdale
Fanatics kept the view
All the players came and went
And their agents too
Outside in the distance
FFP did growl
Two accountants were approaching
The wind began to howl.

This thread seems to have morphed into a song lyric adaptation.

Nice take on one of Bob's finest though, dg1937.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
