It suddenly hit me that the one thing that's changed is that we are no longer on a Palace rollercoaster. This is the longest sustained period in one division in over 60 years!

Going back a bit further the first game I saw was 9-0 win over Accrington Stanley. The Manager then was Arthur Rowe who previously had managed Spurs to two seasons finishing as champions with a style that was called Push and Run which also he introduced at palace. He also had the mercurial skills of Johnny Byrne in the side who was my first football hero.

Excellent post. I've been going for 60yrs, starting at the Whitehorse Lane end. Too many memories, the thrashings at home by Chelsea rankle (as my younger brother is a blue) - John Sewell sitting on the ground, like a baby who has just filled his nappy and lost his dummy, after Osgood has walked through him to smash in another. Favorite, probably that night vs Burnley - it felt like 100,000. Always had great games vs Pompey (remember the 5:1 thrashing with two fantastic goals, never could find a video of it). Walsall's (and later Palace's) Colin (Cannonball) Taylor's rocket from the halfway line (I saw it!). Catching up with Brian Moore and the Big Match on Sunday. Most uncomfortable memory has to be at a home match vs Millwall, standing in the Holmesdale Rd end and watching as a predatory pack of neanderthal Millwall fans came charging round towards us. I have a very strong feeling that 25/26 season could be something very special, or it could be mixing the waccy baccy with my Werthers Originals.
