The Club gave Roy a send off after the match against Arsenal in 2021. I suspect even he would be embarrassed by a further send off given the success by Glasner in the team’s performance and the goal scoring feats of Mateta and Sorloth, both of whom he did his best to get rid of during his tenure.

For my part I am no fan of Roy ever since the way he refused to resign after the Iceland humiliation of our national team. He blamed the players then and has continued since with our first team, young players, referees and even us, the fans. Roy has presided over the worst home defeat and lowest number of goals in a season in our entire league history. Roy has not been a failure but I would describe his tenure as mediocre. With only 34 points required from 34 games to keep us out of relegation in his first season and 7 points out of 10 games after Vieira, I do not agree with the opinion that he ‘saved’ us. He rarely visited Selhurst after he left Croydon aged 18 and has been a welcome visitor at Craven Cottage (what an apt name) on a regular basis. He is Richmond Roy now.

I and many others have moved on and wish to expunge the memory of the turgid football we paid to watch.
