So is your point that if Roy was still here and we’d had Eze and Olise available, We’d still have beaten Liverpool and played West Ham & Newcastle off the park?

Who knows?

I know, you're a 10% man.

However, don't look to the 2 flair players but to the journeymen squad fodder. Will Hughes as just one. New found quality and self belief. He's like a new signing.

I was never anti Roy. But when you see a team so comprehensively transformed with essentially the same players you have to say that OG represents more than 10% at this point.

Can we just agree that the manager has reinvigorated the squad and has benefited from the return of key players? I'm getting bored.

Roy did not have Wharton or Munoz, say for 5 minutes, who have made a massive difference.
I'd say that their impact has been equally important to our new found form, along with a huge improvement from Hughes.

What I would say about Glasner is that he has got the team closing down better and now trying to stay up the field even when leading. Wharton and Hughes now making our midfield look far better with Munoz getting from back to front.

That is about personnel....and coaching.

Amazing performance well done all round!

This team reminds me of the way we played for the forst 6 months of Vieira reign. Winning the ball high up, pressure on the ball, giving us more time attacking and playing more entertaining football. The difference is that it was reliant on a high energy Gallagher. When he went off boil, so did we. Glasners somehow managed to get all players involved and we are no longer reliant on one player anymore. And that's why this will last. Munoz has allowed the team to play differently.. if there's one player that makes this system work its him, We really need to find wingback cover this summer. Great performances all over the pitch tonight. Aagree that Clyne and Hughes look reborn and no ones moaned about Mitchell for ages!!

Such a good feeling to actually want to watch the games again!
10th place here we come. COYP!

I don't want tenth, I prefer 12th, it somehow belongs to us.

That made me laugh! I guess Hughes can take that as a compliment.

On the whole the Newcastle forum were very complimentary of us.

Honestly I'm suprised how sh1t they were after all the media hype about their new ownership and everything and finishing top 4 last season - they look very average. Bruno Guimares was their only standout player...

Yeah I've seen quite a few comments from their fans and tbf the majority were very complimentary to us, most agreed it wasn't a penalty and would have been soft.

Possibly. Possibly not.

There seems to be a tendency to see thing in simple terms on the football threads.
Of course the manager has an impact, but the players kick the ball. They are the more important side of the equation.

This is all about an I told you so attitude regarding Roy Hodgson.
People will frame it how they want, but what is most important is that we have our two flair players available and the team reinvigorated.

I disagree Hrolf. Glasner has transformed us not as a team but as a squad. He is using different players and tactics to suit whose available, who we are playing and how our players are generally re fitness. It is all very carefully measured and the outcome is what we are all witnessing.
It's mind blowing and it's largely down to Glasner. There is no way this would be happening if Roy was still in charge. All the players are fitter, more motivated and on fire. Ask them, they will tell you. You can see they are loving it.
Glasner is truly inspirational.

Howe said that both teams were trying to play the high pressing game and he acknowledged that we played it better than they did, which is why his team couldn't function the way they often do..

It takes one match to set a haystack ablaze. The CPFC stack has been lit and it is getting a fair head of smoke already. Dougie helped build it. Most of his inclusions are out there on the pitch and Glasner has arrived with a massive spark to trigger all the ingredients.
Its a power play looming large.
