The Adam Wharton juggernaut continues to gather momentum. The FA chose to put him in front of the cameras yesterday in their first official media day in Germany. He looks confident and assured and it resulted in full page articles in both my papers, the Mail and the Times. Others too I suspect. Not sure if there's a message in all this, but I'd be surprised if our boy doesn't appear in England's opening match. One thing's for sure, he's attracted a great deal of positive reaction and his value to us is increasing daily.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Sadly, I think it is unlikely he will start on Sunday. But then with England it's highly likely things will not go as planned and he'll get his opportunity. I am sure there is no truth in the rumour that to better prepare either Conor or Trent for the midfield role alongside Rice that Gareth sat them both down and showed them a video of Wharton against Bosnia, saying, 'just do it like Adam lads'

I think as the tournament progresses we will see him involved. Superb player.
