Totally fed up and frustrated playing Royball earlier this year. Top player when on the front foot and getting the ball forward. Absolute man of the match performance today and I couldn't be happier for him.

Having the captains responsibilities was a good and necessary call today.

He was much more self disciplined with his emotions and outbursts due to having the responsibilities of leading by example.

A good call by Glasner and a good MOM performance by the captain!

I dont think anyone ever questioned his importance to the team just that some of us questioned his defensive attributes ,strength with one v one and the ball over the top .Maybe it was Royball as you put it but he has certainly been helped with Glasners 3 at the back . It suits him better with a pal either side of him .

Roy never really had that option . But yes delighted he has found some form

Thoroughly deserved, although it was a team performance. He got it as he was superb in his new role as captain. He is going to get even better.

He seemed like a different man today, commanding, resolute a giant in the defense with great support from Lerma and Clyne at the back, notwithstanding our 2 wingbacks! In fact Clyne played one of his best games in a Palace shirt!

Totally agree

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

So proud of the whole team. Who would have thought this was possible, with all the gloom surrounded us the last couple of months?
Guess it is games like this, when no one (incl. me) never gave us any hope for points at Anfield, that the joy of being an Eagle comes to life.
The Eze goal was pure brilliance, even better was the blocks and the way we defended 2nd half. No panic only heroism - so proud of the lads. Have to admit I left the TV most of the added time, my old heart could not take the red pressure. But my oh my, when the ref said it was all over - wow!
This dark season in one go turned into a sunshine paradise. Keep up the good work for rest of season - you won many new supporters yesterday.

Lerma had Salah in his pocket for a full 90 minutes. But Andersen was rock solid and marshalled the defence brilliantly.

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!"

What gloom ? Most of us were quite relaxed about a boring season and couldn't wait for it to end but gloom , no .

A renewed purpose in the side has put a smile on our faces and we will roll into the summer in good shape . And yes I always think we will win

He was an absolute warrior. Have said consistently that, although I think Guehi is outstanding, if given a choice between them it's Andersen that I'd keep.

One of the best defenders we've had at the club.

Dean Henderson worth a mention as well for his performance. Plenty of us, myself included, have had reservations about some of his performances but I think he's done very well since coming back into the team and was excellent yesterday.

Andersen is a great player, and his qualities have never been in doubt.
If he was a little faster and more consistent he would be playing for a top 4 team.

He was excellent yesterday, let's hope this level of performance continues.
