Yet another convenient suicide by a man who upset the wrong people.
This is a scandal that should get more coverage.

What bothers me too is, as passengers we have no control over what plane we fly on.
All the recent flights I got were the renamed airmax. Not exactly reassuring.

RIP.

Whistleblowers are extremely important when power, especially in terms of physical safety, is abused by corporations.

History is littered with examples of tragedies due to short cuts and downgrades to policies, both official and unofficial taken by powerful companies.

Obviously none of us can speak to what has happened here but I can't help but find regret in the overall negative message given here....that being a whistleblower won't end well for you.

Whether it's left or right, the money power only cares about itself.

None of us will know what happened here, and no one will really try to find out. That is how it works. Who in their right mind would go up against a massive company?

This will become old news very quickly.

as one gets older one learns to appreciate the value of keeping ones mouth shut and not rocking the boat.

I often wondered about the sudden tragic death of MP Robin Cook.

Maybe this ideology is cowardly, but would you speak up against Vlad Putin ? I wouldnt even make enemies in a small parliament in a small country.

heck, even if you are the strongest hardest man in town, its still folly to upset the bloke that makes your soup.

Being a Whistleblower has always seemed to be associated with :

The end of your career
Financial suffering
Generally putting yourself 'at risk'.

In an ideal world these 'suicides' should be investigated properly, . . .

There is a good program on Netflix - "Downfall of Boeing" telling a story of a change in safety culture & how it played a key part in the 2 recent Max crashes in Indonesia & Ethiopia.

I have seen the consequences of being a whistleblower , at a much lower level than Boeing.
It was enlightening to hear this persons revelations about company activities, and they left under a cloud. I don't think they were ever employed in that job sector again, as other companies (even competitors) seemed to close ranks.
They suffered financial hardship as the company put out statements denying any (illegal) activities had taken place and asking anyone who had evidence of such to 'step forward'
So obviously, no one dared to come forward. They all feared the same consequences.

Just thinking about the Christian Horner and the allegations made by a lower ranking employee.
You really need hard evidence (recorded phone calls, photos, texts or videos) to be successful. That said, are the current top team in F1 going to throw out their chief because of some allegations about behaviour ? There was either no evidence, or the victim would be given a brown envelope.

The allegations against a major aircraft manufacturer could have cost the company £billions. Big boys don't do Brown Envelopes, they have other ways which act as a deterrent.

All the Christian Horner texts were leaked. I haven't looked for them but apparently very damning. Basically heard he kept on asking for pics etc and she clearly says no, he continues, she says no again - doesn't sound great. I expect he's on the sofa.

The latest on this whistleblower is that he told friends to watch out - if anything happened to him it wouldn't be suicide! They've got the Epstein suicide cops on the case - so the truth will out.
