It's difficult to leave Ayew out these days.

Based on recent history, playing Olise for 90 minutes every week might be a mistake. The guy is very talented, but he is made of glass.

Indeed and with some getting all misty eyed with Mateta's non goalscoring up turn in form I think Ayew could be playing instead of him and the aforementioned Olise for some time yet .

Its squad game these days and who is on the pitch at the end is often more important than who starts ,'our best eleven line up' could in fact be our downfall .

Show me the first eleven of Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa, Tottenham, Man Utd. Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG, AC Milan etc.etc.
There is no such thing.
They all have squads.
It's what we all moan about as soon as someone gets injured. No cover.
Now we are finally building one. There is a way to go and probably a couple of our top dogs will leave but we have cracked the nut.
At last we are squad building. We have also got a fine academy just starting to produce. How sweet is that.

There was an interesting thing I read, I'm fairly confident about Arsenal but it applies to basically any of the top clubs competing for the league and was making a mockery of Man Utd's excuses for being mid-table.

Basically, United fans and Staff from the Club are constantly moaning about injuries to the best 11 and this is why they can't play exactly Ten Haag's 'amazing' way and if they had those 2-3 players back then they'd be fine. However, it was rightly mocked because Arsenal listed their best 11 and they have not started a game together once this season. Similar for City and Liverpool, the other 2 clubs in the title race.

Basically, there's no point getting upset about Ayew, Lerma, Ward etc missing out from the 'best' 11 because if everyone was fit, we'd probably make it 3 games absolute max starting all of them until an injury.

So it's a nice topic and a great problem to have that fans are aguing who can and can't be dropped. But I don't see Ayew, Lerma or even Ward sweating over losing their position in the coming months of the season given they'll all more than likely play more than our best players.
