A tad judgmental We should wait for the full facts to emerge. Before we stone her to death

There have been a few of these cases in England and Ireland now. God knows what happened here to make a mother kill her children.

A post that, while close to reality, merits a very detailed and lengthy response that may itself be largely guess work. Summary, especially when they are teeny, a bloke killing his kids is something you can just about grasp. Physical violence is more associated with males and men can be estranged from and antagonistic towards their own families for various reasons. Because it can just about be held, you feel you are attacking something tangible when you call him a monster. A mother though is something most people can't grasp. It's too weird to be the act of a monster. There must be something else..?

Of course there are exceptions to this e.g. Lucy Letby and Myra Hindley but as you say the default position when a mother kills is about her mental health problems and how the state / social services has failed her.
