I read a recent biography of Nelson that was pretty good (maybe twenty years old) but that's for another thread. The logistics of the Royal Navy were literally unbelievable - but again I digress. I read the history of The Battle of Waterloo by Cornwell which was quite readable but never read Sharpe. I believe the Hornblower series were books first but couldn't say who wrote them without looking it up. Never read those either. Probably will read them one day, maybe.
