Reading the comments I don't think anyone's suggesting he'll walk into the team... just in the absence of Olise, Eze, Rak-Sakyi and Ebiowei there's literally no other wingers left so therefore may be worth an opportunity. What's the worst that could happen? We lose...well we can also do that with Schlupp there so we may as well learn something about our other options. I'm all for giving young players 10 mins here and there to build up their exposure to first team development. In this drab spell seeing Ozoh get frequent minutes has been at least a positive experience. I understand it's probably not the answer but nor is what we're doing at the moment. That would be the only argument I'd put forth. It's not a bad one TBF, lose and the youngsters get no exposure or lose with them having that experience to build them. Quite a depressing reflection of things however.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Totally agree with that assessment and as a winger he's in a less risky position. The crowd would be behind him too. Most of them anyway.

Schlupp not ready for the Premier League, but gets picked to play every week. Could do no worse in my view as Schlupp contributes very little with or without the ball.

If Ward is RB the winger in front of him has to do a lot of defensive covering

Well we have just brought a right back who looks like he wants get forward, and can pick a pass - two things sadly not in Wardy's locker.

One thing about Ward is, with Roy - I'm surprised he hasn't played holding midfielder. I think Pulis used him there and he was fine - I believe he has actually played a bit at holding midfielder. More than Richards anyway - if we're that desperate.

Olise does his share Unfortunately, he is not that good at it and has given away freekicks in dangerous positions including a penalty IIRC
