It wouldn't surprise if the plan was to stick with Hodgson till the end of the season and then try and get Southgate in.

I’d go for Shaun Derry.

Jon Dahl Tommason is about quit Blackburn apparently. He has done really well with the limited resources he had. Would please Wharton no end if he joined him at Palace.

First of all get rid of former managers as we don't want to go backwards. And one of them is a complete w***er. Sam Allardyce Next you can get rid of the managers who are patently completely unrealistic. Jose Mourinho Then you can get rid of the dross. Frank Lampard Then there's the people on the list who are actually employed elsewhere. Andre Villas-Boas Anyone who isn't going to put up with our transfer strategy having previously managed big spending clubs. Hansi Flick Not progressive enough / game has left them behind. Chris Hughton And you're left with a fairly uninspiring list. Steve Cooper Would definitely take Cooper. Wouldn't mind Gracia on an 18 month deal. Are we definitely sure he wouldn't though....?

Perhaps some of our problems this season (and previously), ie long term injuries to many of our players, are due to errors of judgement by the CPFC medical team? Ie the advice - which must have seemed strange to Roy and other coaches - that Olise was ok to play "some minutes" of a second half? Did they just mean 5 minutes at the end of the game, not a full 45 minutes after half-time?? Whatever the case they and Roy, and apparently Olise as well got it all very wrong.

Of the list Jose would be brilliant. It would be a rollercoaster of emotion, the football closer to Royball, the HOL exploding and it all ending up in tears. However, we may at last end up with a trophy. Very much the Palace way. Being more sensible, I would not be averse to appointing Hasenhuttle. He joined Southampton when they were in the relegation zone, dug them out and lasted four years before a bad run led to his demise. Probably only a two year appointment but not high risk.

Hasenhuttl would very much encapsulate the current state we're in for me. That could go either quite well or very badly. With Roy, we know it is and probably will continue to go quite badly.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
