Thought we played really well first half after the early setback and deserved more goals but United (I refuse to call them Sheffield) changed things and made us work harder for opportunities second half. Eze and Olise were magnificent in a pressure game.

No problem with the subs as such but our collective lack of quality and ability to retain the ball once they went off was frightening.

I don't think last night was the time to bring on Franca or Ahamada who've both been very unconvincing IMO. Ozoh did quite well when he came on but took a few minutes to find his feet and play himself into the game.

The issue with the subs was that it left us without any real creativity on the pitch which meant United were more confident to push on and if they scored we'd have had almost zero chance of recovering the lead. Franca is obviously raw, but this season Schlupp has looked lost, out of shape and offers little going in either direction. He's been a loyal servant but how does he keep getting on the pitch ahead of anyone? Even Eduoard on the left would have been a better option. The fact Ozoh came on ahead of Ahamada I think also shows where Roy's trust is. I also wondered why he didn't bring Clyne on if he wanted to go defensive (was Clyne carrying a knock?) I think a lot of people I've seen and heard commenting on the game also felt the subs caused us to lose our shape and players didn't look quite as clear as to what they should be doing.

Overall I enjoyed the game and going forward we looked the best we've looked in months. How much credit should go to Roy and how much to our dynamic duo is up for debate, but let's not pretend that Sheffield Utd were a Premier League level team. Their defence was shocking and their midfield non existent. If Olise and Eze stay fit then the next few games will give us a much better indication of where we're at.
