Roy Hodgson quoted in October last year ; Doug Freedman spent quite a lot of time in Brazil, watching Matheus Franca play for Flamengo. He had his opinions about it, which we took on board. That’s the only opinion I’m really interested in. He told Steve Parish, the man that bought him, that he has all the skillsets necessary to become a good player in the English Premier League. I thought Franca looked pretty good against Everton in the first cup game. Probably won’t see him again this season.

This thread appears to have struck a nerve. I'm sticking to my original premise: Roy is Roy but Parish is to blame for the current state of affairs. But is the current state of affairs a good or bad thing? I am convinced that for us lowly supporters it's a bad thing, but not for Parish. His club (business) is going to finish EXACTLY where it has finished in the last decade, somewhere between 10th and 17th. Here's my challenge. Go take a 12 month break from following this joke of a club, but follow Brighton or Brentford or someone else with a similar budget. Watch when they buy their players every transfer window, like, the last second of the last day? Just for 12 months. See how similar clubs are run week to week, then come back here and start licking Parish's .... I doubt you will.

Brentford are fragile I agree - they’re all about their manager & striker Brighton - no chance they are well funded, well run great squad great manager it will be years before we finish above them again
