It's clear that we have no real money to speak of, so the decision to bring back Roy was a very weak, safe (or so they thought) decision to make. The thing that baffles me is that in this scenario, just like in admin, you are looking to your youth set up to provide at least 3 players that can be used to bolster the squad. You've just watched your stop gap manager make you safe (did he really do that much?) with 7 matches to go. Seven matches to try Ahamada, Adaramola or any other academy player to see if they have what it takes and he flatly refused. Young players need regular minutes to see if they are up to it or not, surely even Roy knows that? Yet you still decide that he's the man for the job even though you know you are not gonna spend any money on him and his squad will have a lot of youth players in it. This is just madness, which you compound by spending £20m on a keeper you don't need.
In Zaha we had a player that could change a game at any time on his own, cos he was a strong player physically and mentally and you don't replace him. Sadly Eze needs Olise and vice versa, I really don't think they can do it on their own and sadly they have been the injuries along with Doucoure, three of the five we never want injured.
The players right now look depressed. Guehi has never been a smiley player, but he's looking so dejected right now. The squad needs a boost from a couple of signings and I don't know how you sign a player, but surely bringing someone in as early as possible is far better than p1ssing around for the whole window?
Personally we need change now, but it needs to be permanent IMO, otherwise we have the same situation as we have with Roy, a manager that no one needs to impress, cos they know he's not there next season.
Textor was there yesterday. Was that a show of unity, or is SP about to do a deal with the Devil, against his better judgement, but he's now painted himself into a corner with his Roy call, so has no choice? SP does not have an easy job, spinning plates at CPFC and he will make mistakes, but not getting a manager who could work with young players was just plain dumb.
This is a ramble all over the place, but I just wrote it as I thought it, sorry.

Presumably Textor was in town for a clear the air / where do we go from here type of meeting - clearly being beaten 5:0 & having uncomplimentary banners displayed at the Palace end dosent do much for strengthening SP position in any discussions -

Although it must be said that Textor version of being in charge at Lyon isn't exactly a model of success either.

Hopefully any boardroom rift can be temporarily put to one side to allow people to concentrate on matters at hand, a decision on stick or twist with the manager & strengthening the squad before the window closes to ensure PL survival, it would be a shame to end up doing nothing & ending up being relegated because those in the boardroom are more interested in scoring points off each other instead.
