If Roy is going then I would have thought it a good thing to have his successor in place asap.

Well done to Parish for giving back the first half of his performance bonus. Could he kindly explain which objectives he achieved in order to retain the second half. I am not sure his objectives are all that challenging to be fair. I think we can take an educated guess at what his primary objective is. And in most organisations, objectives flow down from the top. So we can do same with Roys objective/s. I would be more interested to know his reasons for only taking half rather than hearing about what he achieved.

Let's cut to the chase: unless extra finance is found from some quarter or other this is a club that will always be on the back foot. Ancient stadium, players wages, transfer fees, loan fees, it all adds up, and frankly what manager is going to be daft enough to come here without some genuine guarantee for funds?

It's very simple, Parish is holding us back. No investor will want to hand over their money for him to control it.. it's that simple. Parish doesn't have the funds either.

I am not sure his objectives are all that challenging to be fair. Parish is the Chairman and as such his primary responsibility is financial results and as the club has consistently lost money every year I fail to see why he is due any bonus at all. I am hoping that his bonus isn't tied to the club's league position as that isn't down to him

Excuse me? Did you just say roy is doing a good job? You've got to be a troll surely!! We are playing the worst football imaginable. Cant buy a win. He says the fans are spoilt. Admin can you please block this poster. He's clearly a Brighton fan winding us up. Originally posted by rollercoaster
Banners, boos and protests would only have a negative impact on the team. I am a Palace fan and I want us to win and if I could help us achieve that I would. Personally I think Roy is doing a good job and look back at the end of last season and the attractive football we were playing then. I hope we can get back to that starting, probably not against Arsenal but, against Sheffield United next week. Our reputation was tarnished by the chants at Everton. I for one am proud of our reputation as fans that will support the team even when times are tough. Most of us have seen far worse than our play this season. I am bitterly disappointed that we haven't made more improvement during our time in the Prem. The board have a lot to answer for but maybe match day is not the right time to make our feelings known.

Don't think I've made an ass at all. Looks like it's already started. Glad your happy though mate Originally posted by Goal Machine
I think you had already made an arse of yourself by starting the thread, mate. Surviving for 12 seasons in the Premier League is no mean fete which shouldn't be sniffed at. You've said yourself it's a good thing, which would contradict your reason for protesting about the mismanagement of the club. As I say, there are many bigger clubs than us who haven't achieved our level of success. I also don't think we regularly flirt with relegation, we're staunch midtableists. To say we have no ambition is grossly unfair to Parish given how far he's taken us. We'd all love to get to Europe but we don't qualify for that based on how long we've been in the Premier League. For a smaller club like us with a dilapidated stadium and smallish fan base, we'll struggle to attract big names, nor can we afford their salaries. The reality is we need to be pragmatic to stay in the division. Parish has tried rolling the dice with De Boer and Vieira and I'm sure he'll try again. Personally, I don't think it's necessary to splash the cash this transfer window. Seasons over. Better off saving the money and letting Roy's future replacement spend it. Treat this season as an opportunity to get Ozoh and Franca up to speed. I get the frustration and from a selfish point of view would enjoy a stint in the Championship to reignite my love, but that's not to the benefit of the club. This is the time when the club need to communicate in an open and authentically empathetic fashion. So far, all we have is Roy trotting out his personal (misguided) platitudes on why we failed to turn up yet again, whilst not taking any personal responsibility for the pathetic performance on the pitch - like it's the referee's fault we lost! It looks like management and ownership has lost its way and at least the communications team should have some balls and tell Parish and Hodgson to stop blathering and be brave and deal with the brutal facts!

We are sadly missing Phil Alexander at times like this. A master CEO who we haven’t replaced.
