Palace have been crying out for a RB since AWB left. The position has never been replaced. This lad seems to be very good going forward as well. in 2022/23 he had 8 G, 5 A in 36 games. This year he played 17 times with (5 G, 1 A). I think we could see Ward and Clyne leave this summer and Dan Imray promoted to back up RB. In regards to LB, we could see someone like Adaramola promoted to the first team as back up LB next season. Schlupp can also play LB/LWB I think he has done in the past.
Johnstone, Guehi, Andersen, Richards, Mitchell, Lerma, Ozoh, Munoz, Eze, Ayew, Olise.

I have to say that this signing really shows how starved us fans at Palace are. I wouldn't be too harsh on Genk, they do play European football. Edit: I'd just add that according to Wikipedia, KdB played more games for them then he did Chelsea, Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg combined! It might take him a bit of time to get up to speed, naturally, however for a couple comparisons both Olise and Eze were very much at mid-lower C'ship teams and they've done OK for us! New signings tend to be viewed in an overly optimistic light but I think there's real potential here. Colombian football is not famed for being soft, Genk are a reputable club and he has 20+ int'l games for a decent national team. I'm hoping for the best but with a bit of leeway for adjustment! Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Wow, great news, a position strengthened that we have needed to do for 3 seasons. It’s a shame he has shin splints, torn ankle ligaments and a dodgy ACL, because other than that he’s in tip top condition. I shouldn’t really say stuff like that, because you just know he will have arrived with some mysterious gremlin that our medical staff have missed.

I suspect there are some who believe that Mr Hodgson will select Ward and Clyne over Munoz.Tried and trusted, vast experience at PL level as opposed to a player who is reputedly more impressive offensively than defensively. For avoidance of doubt I have never seen Munoz play. There will also be those with the mindset that he was cheap and one doesn't get much for the price that has been paid !

They're all valid observations Willo however our buying a 27 year old RB in a position that has been the ire of Palace fans for some time suggests there must be some intention to play him. I suspect nothing but a win tonight will keep Roy in post and the playing of our new RB might be a desire from fans which if left unaddressed, will further threaten hostility towards the manager. I don't expect to see him start or at all tonight but I'd imagine we will do soon. As always, I could be off the mark on every point there, just my thinking at this moment in time.

Little chance he will play tonight unless Mitchell is injured. After all he has got to learn how to defend!

I would be surprised to see Adaramola get anywhere near a Premiership first team personally. Imray definitely has potential and I'm interested to see how he does on loan.
