Sadly my only memory of him on the pitch was when he helped break my heart in 76 at Stamford bridge, his time at palace was just before my time, but sad news, RIP

Another sad loss a player from my schoolboy days. One small quirky memory of Mel was a picture that was in the newspaper, the picture caught him in an aerial challenge and you could clearly see he still had his wrist watch on !
