Might work out fine in the long run. i think the issue was that SJ had a release clause in his contract and with VG sulking and forcing a move we were in a difficult position. At his age and price Henderson is a great signing, however, his wages are high and his thigh injury is still a question mark, hence why Forest didn't re-sign him. I think the issue with the signing was that with a limited budget and after the Franca signing should the money not have been spent elsewhere. I don't think anyone is questioning Henderson's abilities. He is clearly not 100% fit yet, so in a month or so should be performing even better. In terms of SJ was a little confused that he went off last week. As a runner, calf injuries are quite common and whilst they are painful you can run through these injuries (within reason). In the 85th minute, could he not have managed the last 10 minutes or so? He was also injured for periods last season so the club clearly felt they couldn't rely on him through the season, and this has proved correct. Also think about the top 6 teams. Spurs, Newcastle and possibly Man U could all be in the market for a keeper. SJ must be an option for each - he's in the England squad and at 30 is a good age.

I sit behind that goal and honestly, he could barely stand up for about 2 or 3 minutes before he went down. Kept trying to get the bench's attention but no-one looked at him and the ball stayed in play throughout. Not a chance he'd have been able to spring off that leg to make a save, jump to catch a cross, anything. If SJ is even on the bench against Brighton I can't see that he's going to be 100% from the condition he was in.
