What passes for our second string ,is in the most part well short of where it should be. The Plymouth game proved that,, This is something that has intrigued me about this club for many many years; how we seem to accumulate players who, despite being incredibly well-paid, are basically hopeless. There are thousands of professional footballers out there, so how does this happen so perennially? You used Plymouth as an example. Their starting line-up was nowhere near their regular starting XI yet they were all over our (Premier League) reserves sprinkled with a few regulars. Lesser clubs seem to be able to "give it a go" in cup competitions against lofty opposition; why are we unable to do so? What do these players do to justify their status and salary?

Ten Hag now holds all the cards. Can bring in the players who played well last night and combine them with their first teamers who didn't need to break a sweat. Our only hope is they get complacent and we produce a miracle in attack.

I thouight Hodgson looked lost without his normal back-up team. The team needed more support from the touch line because they looked a beaten side before the kick-off. The new signings didn’t impress and neither did the normal substitute players.

I think we're fortunate to have got eight points with what's been available so far this season. Even with a full squad our full backs and forwards aren't at the level. Fans complain that young, home grown talent isn't being given an opportunity. Young home grown talent plays sh1t in the cup and it's the managers fault and he's not taking the cup seriously.

United have Newcastle next round. I’m marginally less bitter now
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Yes, I agree. I mean looking at the squad: I generally agree. I may be biased, however, I think Chris Richards is significantly more useful than all the rest of the gents on that list (though I haven't seen Ahamada in action). I remind critics that he was our Player of the Month in January of this year.
