This is not in anyway me slating Hodgson. He has proved me wrong already this season and I actually think his doing a brilliant job so far this with what he has got but why on earth does Hodgson never bring players on early today being an example. Rak Sakyi sub was absolutely way too late honestly think it’s possible he could have changed the game by making more subs earlier. Also really stubborn at giving young players a chance. Again I mean this in a constructive way

This could easily have been a post from the time of Roy's first stint, nothing has changed...

He could have changed the game by making earlier subs he could have also thrown it away
Roy obviously doesn't trust the subs enough yet and was happy to settle for the point

So, what you're saying, is, ROYBALL.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Call it what you like eagleman , but at the end of the season its a point we might need and one we could have lost with a rash decision to 'go for it' . Those days will hopefully come later in the season

We just don’t have quality subs to bring on. We are having to play Schlupp, Hughes and probably Ayew who would be terrific players to bring on if we had a stronger 11. We have quality defenders on the bench and a forward but midfield which is the area that gets the most knackered doesn’t have any quality to come on :-( Even with our injuries our squad isn’t strong enough. Let’s hope we have a good January window as we lost at Villa last week and just got a point today with a not strong enough squad. Lucky enough there are at least 5 worse teams than us presently.

Do posters actually look at our subs bench and know who is on it.

If you read Roy’s post game comments, he said he was happy with the quality of the starting 11 but the bench was weak. I know we have a.few injuries (although not that many). It shows how wafer thin our squad is. It makes me wonder how involved Roy is in the selection of players to purchase. Why did we spend 15mil on a reserve keeper (having said that I do rate Henderson), but brought in no forward or full back. I know not a new topic, but we can already see the result of this summers transfer activity. I know it hasn’t been easy due to inflated prices of players etc. I don’t think we have any danger of relegation, but i think we will see the team in the graveyard slot on MOTD in “drab draws” a fair few more times this season.

Roy’s team reflects his personality. While it was refreshing to see him play more attacking football with the players we have and clearly he brought order to the chaos last season, he has his preferred 11 and the option of switching to 442 at 70 minutes if we need a goal. That’s our season right there unless injuries force a change. It must be soul destroying being on the bench knowing you’re very unlikely to get on and then hearing that you’re not good enough in the post match interview. Someone needs to tell him that’s not motivating.

On the subject of his post match interviews I find his long winded answers to questions a bit irritating. Last nights monologue on penalty decisions is a case in point. Why couldn’t he just say “I haven’t seen the Eze penalty incident yet but we were on the wrong end of a poor decision last week.”

Yesterday's game was indeed a "Drab draw" with the crowd not motivated to generate a fervent atmosphere.
Prior to the game I asserted on HOL that I did not envisage us scoring and alas this was proved right.
