Spanish law is problematic about sexual offences, there has been lots of controversy over the last few years so maybe not a good example.

In the UK I actually think that the law is too tightly defined. On the sexual assault trial where I was a juror the judge told us that in order to find the person guilty we had to believe that the accused had grabbed her buttocks and then her v***** pulling her onto his crotch. If we did not believe all of this then he was not guilty.

None of us believed that he had grabbed her v***** in the manner outlined as this was a public place with hundreds of witnesses and even a photographer who took pictures at the time of the assault.

If however he was simply charged with "sexual assault by touching" I think we might have had a split vote. It was certainly possible that he grabbed her behind as he was drunk and standing behind her so others may not have seen.

Anyway I think the law is far too specific to get a conviction.

It's a bit like when someone steals your chequebook they are not charged with that but with 50 separate offences (one for each cheque).

Commonsense does not seem to play a big part in the law.

There's a sexual assault trial for some drunk idiot at a party?

Fecking hell, having seen what has gone on when I was a bouncer the mind boggles.

'Sexual assault by touching'?.....I see how that one could be abused? The lawyers would absolutely love that one.

I don't want to belittle women who are actually sexually attacked because actually I think that's mostly always been taken seriously.....but I can well understand why less males make first moves today.

From statistics I read 87 percent of young women want men to make the first move but 50 percent of young men now think they will be considered creepy. The percent of men now opting out is pretty scary when you consider things from a society level. The west is self destructive rather than utilitarian.

The whole 'me too' thing went from rightly pointing out the creeps and weirdos out there to being used to essentially damage the necessary interactions to successfully replace the next generation.

It's like no one wants zoomers to have a pension.
