For what it’s worth, Lerma, Henderson and Holding are all good sensible signings. And Franca is an exciting talent who could be amazing for us.

But I really struggle to see how at the start of the window, a CB and GK would have been priority positions. Especially given that have given JT a new contract, and now have 3 good keepers at the club.

From the outside the glaring loss was Wilf. It feels very unlikely that we are going to be able to replace all he gave us with 1 signing, and more unlikely that’s going to be achieved with a kid from Brazil with a handful of pro appearances. Which make is more baffling that we wouldn’t try and get a ready made replacement on free or loan (Harrison, Traore, Sinisterra)

We are also in a position now where we still have nothing on the bench to try and change a game.

I know that we need to play within our means, but with Franca, Holding and Henderson we’ve spent in the region of 48m. Not huge but not insignificant. And if you look around the league there were plenty of options that we could have had a realistic chance of attracting and affording. Surely there would have been a better way to spend that 46m?
