Neither appeared to travel to Plymouth yesterday. They didn’t play, weren’t on the bench and I was there but didn’t see them.

Does anyone know if they got knocks on Saturday or could this be signs that the rumours of bids from Liverpool and Tottenham have been accepted?

If so I hope replacements are lined up. Richards played ok, but Tompkins looked a liability, clumsy, slow and unfortunately not half the player he once was. Doucoure was missed too. Lerma looked lost and uncertain without him and we lacked solidity in the middle.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Not sure why O’Brien was let go, I’m sure he would have been a better 4th choice than Tomkins.

If it’s true we are looking at Holding then that does raise concerns about Andersen. Richards is competent but probably a first choice replacement compared to the Andersen /Guehi combo.

Doucoure is an even bigger worry. He runs our midfield. If he is on his way out the door then I can’t even think of a replacement at short notice other than Ndidi from Leicester who would command a sizeable fee himself.

Of course, they could both have had a night off, feet up in front of the tv.

Probably they were just the lucky ones. The medical team will play a part in Roy’s decision making. They will tell him who could do with the rest.

CD is probably one of the hardest working players on the pitch any given game and JA was very active in attack & defense when we were probing for the equalizer and then trying for the winner so id imagine recovery data would point to them needing the rest

As a few posters have noted, and to balance this out I think he's possibly been underrated in being a very good player for us, but nowadays Tomkins looks far from even being or adequate physical capability to play football, let alone in the PL.

This may also be down to lack of playing time however with Richards seemingly only sporadically fit I would like to see another CB, capable of stepping in when called upon, on the bench if possible.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

This statement is ridiculous. Lerma has played a total of 4 competitive games alongside Doucoure but you think he looks 'lost and uncertain' without him? Maybe Roy could go ion and hold his hand bless him.
Lerma is MORE experienced than Doucoure pal. Only time will tell if Doucoure lives up to the 70m price tag quoted. Sounds like you've got him pegged as a superstar already. Because he was Liverpool's 3rd choice? Please
