They are not devoid of talent.

BUT, they are the type of strikers that broadly wont get heavily involved in the game.

We've seen with a couple of Ayew and Mitchel crosses the guys can find space and get on the end of things.

Until we can upgrade, we know what we need to do. Generate some opportunities for them

Not disagreeing but is their greater involvement as important as their goalscoring?
Bill Nicholson said he didn't care if he didn't see Jimmy Greaves for 89 minutes provided he scored in the other one. Obviously neither of ours are Greaves' class and it's moot if they don't score but I'd rather have a goal threat than a striker bounding around like a Labrador in a cabbage patch.

I'm conflicted. AS goals are obviously important.

I always use Antonio as a good reference. In their game against Brighton the first 2 goals were down to him hustling. Something neither of our strikers do. Especially the first goal.

Sure. Antonio went through the Chelsea defence like Godzilla on the rampage. He's still a bit of a plum for the time he celebrated a goal with a cardboard cutout of himself.

But I’ve heard even Erling Haaland is getting extra shooting and finishing practise in just in case

If Edouard became the player we hoped we were buying, we would have an incredible spine.

step one get a good ball in the box step two move to them crosses and finish simple , we haven't put good balls in for our strikers to show there worth , and wilf was just as guilty of that ,
OE JPM can score they have shown that in flashes but didnt get a good run in the team 3 games top then 10 to 15 mins near the end of a game , that is no good for them to work with the team , they cant get a understanding ,
ive always said we need a 15 goal a season striker and other players step up , they showed they can score we have the players who can deliver regular good balls , I wouldnt be surprised if between the 2 of them they could get 25 to 30 which is a big plus with our defence , so its watch this space see if we can keep putting good balls in

have to agree. Neither are great, but equally neither are rubbish. Bringing in another Prem ready striker that we could afford (e.g. Che Adams for £15m) would have been a like for like replacement IMHO. I think with these 2 and maybe Ayew moving central we have 3 decent striking options to use in a 433 formation.

With the right service and also when playing with confidence both can score and lead the line okay (ish). Personally i am amazed not only did we not buy or loan a winger as OE is showing that he can get on the end of an early hit cross.

ALso, the lack of depth in our squad in key positions is a massive concern.

The fact that he hasn’t(so far) was quite predictable though, obviously there’s a world of difference playing up front for Celtic and playing down south in the premier league. Let’s face it, a one legged 60 year old carrying some heavy shopping could score a few goals playing up front for Celtic in scotlands top flight
