Hope you got yourself a seat Wisbech. From one old Holmesdale road terracer to another, I can tell you 90 minutes standing is hard!!
Enjoy the match.

Thanks, yes we have seats in their “family” section. Couldn’t get them from Palace as I don’t meet the criteria!

Palace away was my first away trip as a sixteen year old.....and I have to say I have only the vaguest memories of that half time incursion.

Ironically I made the reverse trip and have lived in Kent for 25+ years....so Palace are (just) my local team....toss up with Crawley although I have only been a few times....I knew a couple of the Palace directors through my work. One sadly, Fergus McGovern died at a ridiculously young age from an aneurysm.

I even sponsored a game their v QPR ( dreadful 0=0 draw where we had a free styler break a Guiness world record at half time for "on your back keepie ups" but half the stadium was off getting pies and bovril....

My ex boss was a Palace fan.....so did a few hospitality trips in the Prem days of Lombardo and co....Leeds and Newcastle stand out.

And I remember the 0-1 Swindlehurst (good goal as I recall...edge of the box top bin.) Not as bad as the 0-3 Wrexham home that was on Match of the Dat as well.....but bad enough.

Have great season,,,hopefully after tonight you can concentrate on the league.,,,,,

Keep an eye on Issaka if he plays.....one to watch....pacey direct, eye for goal and turned 17 last month.

I wouldn't be at all surprised at such an outcome TBH.

I have to say that driving from Kent to Plymouth is a lot easier than it was in the olden days (60s and 70s) with that new-fangled M25 and other motorways and by-passes. In my day it was a life's work!

It seems you just can't buy a ticket unless you are a season ticket holder or a member nowadays. I have been a Palace fan for over 70 years since my parents took me when I was 6 and we lived in Selhurst Rd. Season ticket holder in the Holmesdale for 20+ years BUT, like Wisbech I don't meet the criteria to get a ticket from Palace. Plymouth also have their criteria which I don't meet, when we were both in the same division I went to Home Park three years running and had no trouble getting a ticket then. What's changed?

Safe travels to those coming down. FYI the reference to Lundon Cabbie is a well know Plymouth based Palace fan /regular poster on our site and quite possibly here, who slums it with us when he can't get to Palace....

Just leave Rak-Sakyi at home ....

Nice work, both here and at home.

Sorry to disappoint you, but many of us hope, indeed expect, JRS to be in our team tonight. Most important is that you see a decent game of football.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I had no trouble getting them from Plymouth. They restrict them to members and season ticket holders for the first few days but then they get opened to all. The choices were a little limited but perfectly OK. I think you could still get a ticket now. £16 for a seat for the over 65s!

It is a sell out ....last seven tickets went this morning according to one who monitors such stuff ( life is way too short but hey....)

Am hoping your coaching staffs attention too our team is a ropey as the Newsnow preview....apparently we are not rotating keepers ( we almost certainly will) and are going to miss the three long term injured players who have been out all season...but will welcome back the left back we know is out for the next three months

Also apparentluy our form is abject ( two injury time defeats to an ex Prem side and a team who we had 62% possession against on their ground)....

Personally I think if you play a decent side you win....JRS is quality...we would loan him but I suspect you have better options....

Safe travels and see you afterwards for the post mortem!

I remember going to Plymouth for an FA cup match in 1974 and we lost 2:1 Got the programme up in the loft, must dig it out to see what team we put out and if I kept a report from a newspaper? My old mind is telling me George Graham scored our goal? Think we were winning and they scored late on. Probably got most of that wrong other than the result :-)

If you go back to page 3 of this thread, the post by the Argyle fan contains a link to an article on an Argyle fan site. That article has a mini report on the match you are referring to. In short; you are correct in your recollection of the outcome and the late winner, but it was Swindlehurst who scored.

Think we might struggle tonight. My last Palace live match was a 4-1 horrorshow against Bristol City at Ashton "graveyard for us" Gate in October 2017 in this cup. Bakary Sako opened the scoring, who to be fair was the only player to really put in a shift which is a good gauge to the performance, after that the wheels fell off, with PVA making himself look like a clown for one of the goals. Roy made 9 changes that day and expect the same tonight. Admittedly we were bottom of the league at the time of that previous shocker and hopefully he won't make that many changes tonight and we might have a chance. Hope for anybody going to the game that you don't see that type of circus. My local pals haven't stopped reminding me of that defeat and with my partner hailing from Plymouth I fear I might be dining out on the same after tonight. Pls Roy put out a strong side tonight. Will take any positive scoreline tonight. COYP !!

If you are looking for precedents to predict tonight's result, then I'm afraid the omens are not good. We tend to be somewhat 'underwhelming' in League Cup ties.
