I went to SP last night with two other people. When we got to the Holmesdale Upper entrance, one of our tickets worked, the other two didn't. One was a download, the other was a plastic ticket. We were directed to the ticket offices in Park Road. At around 7.50 we joined a queue of about 100 people who had the same experience. There were just two ticket windows open and each person or group took several minutes to be issued with paper replacements. At about 8.20 - viz 20 minutes after kickoff- another two windows were opened. When I reached the head of the queue and presented my two failed tickets, it took the guy several minutes to print out the paper replacements. We finally got in at 8.25. As you can imagine, the people queueing were not happy. First question is: WTF? Second is, what do I do now? Presumably I should take the two failed tickets to the main box office and ask for them to be validated or reissued. But how do I know they would even work next time?

I would certainly take it up with the box office. This is not good enough. I did notice large queues forming at the ticket offices about 30 minutes before the match. I am a season ticket holder and have both a card and download on my phone and operate on the basis that one of them will work. Last night my download did work which last season it didn't. I don't know what time you attempted to enter the ground but until you are happy that this problem has been overcome it is best to arrive at the turnstile with plenty of time to spare in case there is a repeat of this nonsense.

I arrived at 7.40pm. Got to gate at 7.50pm. Given that I had to queue for ticket office for nearly 35 minutes, suggests I need to arrive with nearly an hour to spare next time.

Where else would a paying customer get treated like this. We should all ask for a refund whenever this happens. Its their responsibility how tickets are assigned therefore they should pay if it goes wrong. If we all pester them then maybe they will sort this out.

You may get somewhere on a one off. Try for a refund. I would.

I always get go into the stadium an hour before I'm happy to sit in the stadium with a tea and relax for the hour. I've had ticket issues in the past and the extra time I allow myself gives me time to get it sorted before ko.

After having been caught up in a similar farce at the first home game last season I was there about 90 minutes before kick off last night, of course my season ticket worked first time (which it wouldn't have done if I had been pressed for time) but no worries I had plenty of time for a couple of beers before kick off.

I'm at the ground 3hrs before ko these days. It ensures I can park about 2 mins from the ground and get away really quickly afterwards because I am so close by. Fill the time before the game with popping into Sainsbury's, the club shop, the fan zone and getting something to eat. Most people would think I am nuts but I like getting there when it is quiet and seeing it gradually build up. Sometimes I see the players arrive. Once they have read out the team in the fanzone, then I go into the ground, so just under an hour before ko. Again before it gets anything like busy. I would find it too stressful arriving at Selhurst half an hour before ko! Oh and it has to be plastic card season ticket, no faith in the digital ticketing, seen it fail for too many others
