In a few years time I don't doubt folk will be recalling a game against Bournemouth on November 6th 2023.

One of the many cursed Shrewsbury Town games from the early/mid 80s.

0-5 at home to Wimbledon in 1985 early in the Steve Coppell era. I think some fans had a bit of go at Ron Noades in the Directors' Box during the game. It was utter rubbish. Whenever this question comes up, it's this game that comes to mind first for me. Yes, some supporters had to be stopped trying to get into the Directors Box, and there was a 1,000 fan demonstration after the match which had to be dispersed by mounted police. It wasn't just the fact we'd lost 0-5 at home, it was the context of the game that made it the most humiliating. This was the first ever competitive match between Palace and Wimbledon at Selhurst. Wimbledon had only become a professional club about 10 years previously and most of us fans saw them as that little amateur club down the road, a bit like how fans today might view Sutton or Bromley. And here they were absolutely destroying us on our home turf. There is a rumour that Coppell offered his resignation to Noades after the game - thankfully Ron refused it. I'm sure i've heard Noades mention that Coppell did this a few times after bad defeats, but Noades always laughed it off. People have mentioned the Liverpool 9-0, but for me that's in the category of our 'best worst defeat ever', as it was the catalyst for the club's greatest ever day at Villa Park.

When i was about 10, was sitting in the Arthur Wait with my Dad, i think it was against Fulham, and some big mouthed away fan giving some, my Dad got up turned round a stuck one on him, his glasses broke in two and fell to the floor, my Dad just turned round and sat down, nobody did anything

We were truly awful and I seem to remember Simon Jordan refunded everyone that travelled up on the official club coaches. I had flown up to Liverpool with some mates to make a weekend of it!

I didn't go to many games that season but think I went to one we lost 0-1 at home to Barnsley in August. Neil Redfearn scored from thirty yards IIRC. I was there Boxing Day for Zohar's backpass (sorry I think it was meant to be a penalty). Yes , it was an evening game I think. I missed it as I was on holiday. It was something of a let down having beaten Everton away on the opening day.

the 0-0 cup game at home to Everton was right up there, or down there to be precise If we’re talking 0-0’s, I remember going to Orient on a Sunday morning in 1982 before Sunday football was even a thing. 11.30 kick off and it was dreadful. I think what made it seem worse is we’d had the highs of our FA Cup replay win against them also at their place a few days before, which put us in the 1/4 finals. There was a fraction of the support there on the Sunday, it was like a morgue in comparison
