Hodgson said in the Press Conference today that the club have been interested in Henderson and Holding for a while now. This suggests to me that the club have a number of preferred targets that they keep an eye on and when they become available at the right price, they go for it. As for the positions where we are weak, it may simply be that the players we want aren't available or are currently out of our price range.

After the Sakho and Benteke experiences, I suspect that the club is wary of making overpriced panic buys.
