As now Wilf and Sadly Olise have left the club, do we revert back to wingers playing on their natural side, i think originally it was what Wilf wanted, against Sheff Utd Ayew player well on the right and created a goal for Edouard, it is much easier for the CF if the wide player is mostly going to cross and not cut back inside, just a thought Edouards improvement may be down to that.

Unfortunately we don't have any wingers so deciding how to use what we haven't got is pointless

From memory we only started playing inverted wingers because Townsend would't/didn't fancy playing on the Left . That meant Wilf (who always played on the right) having to switch sides whenever he and Townsend were both on the pitch .
When Bolasie was sold it became permanent

But your right , Murray would have got 3 goals a season had we played with inverted wingers at that time

So true, Eddy would not have scored that goal had Olise been on the wing. He would have had to check on his left allowing defenders to set themselves.

Ayew will be a winger on one side, inverted winger/inside forward on the other.

Yes please.

Olise has a great delivery, but I suspect the CF's would have loved it to come earlier than in does.

From my lowly playing experience, its a much easier ball to defend.

I never understood why we never tried him on the left, especially as he is so left footed
