I'd take Cherki. He looks useful would replace Eze when Ebz leaves next summer.

Good call, only player who really stood out for them

I thought Lyons persistent fouling was ridiculous. Their only bright point was indeed Cherki.. At only 19 years of age he's gonna be some player. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I thought we played very well today. Ayew was superb and I thought Clyne was fantastic today as well.

That save from Johnstone was world class.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Decent enough run out with a few highlights.

Eze kept running into trouble but he needs a bit more support around him (Schlupp doesn’t offer him enough of an outlet) His free kick was well delivered and Schlupp’s headed finish was superb.

I thought Clyne had a decent game at both LB (1st Half) and RB (2nd Half).

Doucoure good and Ayew very good. Thought Lerma still looks to be short on match fitness and sharpness but hopefully he will be there in a couple of weeks.

Guehi was absolutely outstanding and Andersen had a solid game too.

Ward at Right back was turned inside out and his distribution was poor as usual. He either gives it straight back to Andersen or hoofs an aimless ball forward.

Sam Johnstone was superb, confident, commanding and 3 fantastic saves.

Shame we didn’t get to see much of Ahamada or Rak-Sakyi but the appearance of our new signing França at Half-Time was a welcome sight.

We still lack a serious threat upfront, neither Edouard or Mateta are the answer.

Lyon started well but after we’d scored the first goal (against the run of play) we came much more in to it and just edged it, their niggly fouls were particularly disappointing.

I thought last evening was a very impressive Palace performance, not so much that we won it deservedly, but dominated the game and negated Lyon. My concerns are an over-reliance on Eze, last night and in other pre-season games. Surely, he will not be able to reproduce these great performances every game and will 'blow up'. I cannot imagine Palace has spent that money on Franca, without the hope/intention he can 'do the business' in the first team and Premier League. His interview rather suggested that HE expected to be a first-teamer. We don't yet know where/how Palace will use him, but he should take some weight off Eze. I am still very much of the opinion that a central striker, capable of holding the ball up and clinical finishing is missing from the jigsaw. With respect to Mateta, Edouard (and Ayew, but he performs in other ways), I cannot see them scoring enough.

A thought has occurred to me(sorry bout that), somebody was presented at half-time, who was it? Was it Franca or was it the lad that Textor had brought over from Botafogo & was going to present to the fans, Nascimento? Just asking, as i couldn't see or hear on Tele or via peoples video's on FB.

Good call . I also thought Johann Lepenant looked good yesterday and only 20 years of age .

I felt sorry for everyone in the Holmesdale yesterday when the rain started to blow in on them, but to be fair they showed more speed and movement than Edouard. Even in the pre-match warm-up he struggled to hit the target and I was amazed when he scored.

Ayew by contrast was constantly looking for the ball, making runs and finding space. I thought he was easily the best player. The defence looked in danger of being caught out for pace a few times which is a little bit worrying, but Lyon were not great and as others have said were constantly fouling.
