I would be interested to here from Eddie or Suzy why he thinks he would make a good MP.

What are his qualifications?

This is a general point about politicians and also applies to Laurence Fox when he stood for London Mayor, same question?

To clarify my point. Clement Attlee spent the best part of 10 years working in the East End of London (Limehouse) doing social work. He was well known and liked by the locals which is why the Labour party asked him to become their candidate to try and dislodge the sitting Liberal MP which he did.

Eddie has almost bound to have done loads of LGBTQ work or whatever, I would have thought.

I'm sure he has but being sympathetic to a group doesn't mean you would make a good MP. Lots of people are sympathetic to the poor / racial groups / pensioners whatever that still isn't a qualification for being an MP or not in my book anyway.

What management experience do they have, can they point to accomplishments / problem solving / diplomacy / consensus building etc.

I'm not just digging him out because I don't know his story this is a general moan about wannabe MPs.

Fair enough, but I would have suspected LGBTQ stuff counts as community work in Brighton.

proper Charity work :

- the disabled
- the neuro-diverse

- the elderly
- the Terminally ill

- the poor
- drink & drug addiction charities.

etc.

I suspect he has done just as much of the above if not more than the current PM and twice that of MP's like Nadine Dorrris or Jacob RM.

These days actual experience does seem to be a requisite qualification for parliament.

Absolutely. All kinds of conflicting emotions on this one.On the onehand LOL, in a good way. And yet, on the other, LOL in a bad way.

But surely the selection process must understand how badly this can potentially go down with at least an element of the electorate in Brighton? Ignore all the mentally illness stuff around pretending, sometimes/when it suits, to be a woman, just the Palace supporting stuff should have been sufficent to mean he never got selected.

I would never vote for an openly Brighton-supporting constituency MP up in here in South London.

My God. Are you serious?!

Hahaha.

I do believe you may be.

Hahaha

I recently donated blood - afterwards I stipulated it should not be used for a Brighton fan.

Too right. And I wouldn't want any of theirs either.
