Disorder on the Streets of England.....

this was not uncommon when I managed a croydon menswear store, late 70s, although smaller numbers, usually a gang of a dozen or so. They would often arrive by train or start west croydon end, usually 'Guvnors' menswear would kop it first, then the phones would go pre-warning the other mens shops. I'd usually lock the doors and only let single punters or couples in. on several occasions the gang arrived furious they could not enter and set about the doors which were fortunatly heavy plate glass. meanwhile Guvnors had the store ransacked, the till emptied and a few staff got slapped about. went on for a few saturdays untils nicked (old bill didnt f*** about then) Kids,tired of being bothered by your pesky parents? Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.
