I think Wilf leaving would have contributed towards this. Means the club can offer him more money plus give more guarantees him a first team place. Olise, Eze and if Franca is half the player he’s being hyped to be makes this an exciting forward line. Added bonus that Edouard seems to have found his scoring boots.

Since this debate is now irrelevant, and there is a new thread on the new contract (and we will probably never know if that has a buy out clause either), I am now locking this thread.
