I was there with a couple of mates! Can't actually remember a lot other than the stage seemed about 5 miles away and I daren't go anywhere for fear of never finding my mates again. The transport arrangements were a nightmare. The train back to London was meant to stop at all stations but didn't so we got one back to Woking and then managed to get the last train which stopped at Surbiton. We were literally piled on top of everyone - very unpleasant. I have a lapel badge somewhere that they were dropping from large balloons. Glad I got to see Graham Parker though.

Was also at the Crystal Palace Garden Party in 1974 watching Rick Wakeman doing Journey to the Centre of the Earth and in July 1981 watching Ian Dury as an alternative to the Royal Wedding.

Blackbushe has tried its hand at many things over the years. Drag racing, the weekend market, British Car Auctions, and of course the airfield with various flying activities.
I had no idea Dylan and Clapton had played within walking distance of my house, but unfortunately I was only 10 at the time.

I sometimes visit the Cafe at Blackbushe when catching up with friends in the area. Photo is of it in 2022. Perhaps it needs a couple of blue plaques to remind visitors of its past ?
