All the current talk about Forest has brought to mind the last time we played them on the final day of the season - May 2011. It was a day of strange goings-on. Before the match Paul Hart strode on to the pitch. A former Forest manager and the man who had saved us from relegation in his 2-month spell at the end of the previous season (culminating in that match at Hillsborough), he received loud applause from all round the ground. The game started and around the 7th minute that Australian animal we had at left back committed one of the worst fouls I've seen, and was dismissed. Then in the middle of an injury stoppage the public address system started spouting some not very complimentary stuff about the Forest manager. I think I recall this "commentator" saying "I don't know why Billy Davies is jumping about", or something similar. Was this the person doing the commentary to local hospitals? Forest won 3-0 and could easily have scored more. They finished the season in 6th place and we finished 20th. When the game ended I stayed in my seat, as one does after the last game, but became aware that everyone around me was standing and applauding the departing Forest supporters. They then started applauding back, leading to a general love-in. As I said, strange goings-on.

I was at that game but don't remember any of that, apart from the result putting Forest into the play-offs.

Yep I remember that game. Quite a good atmosphere all round because we were happy we had survived another season and if memory serves me correctly I think the Forest fans were in a good mood because they were in the play offs? I also remember us applauding them and them applauding us. Not usually one for a love in with another club but on the last day of the season if both clubs have little or nothing to play for it should just be a jolly up for all.
