Just reading how hundreds of children are dying every day from preventable diseases in hospitals with no ventilators etc.
Women are emasculated again and so much more is wrong over there.
Bush and Blair should be up in front of a war crimes Commission along with sleepy Joe who oversaw a chaotic withdrawl from a Country that the West had rescued from its own war efforts - which should never have begun in the first place.
The rest of Europe had to withdraw as the USA were funding 90% odd of the bill.
I feel ashamed of what has gone on there as we watch helpless from the sidelines.
It is a dreadful situation.
To those responsible - hang your heads in shame.

If the Afghanistan War had never happened then it is quite possible the country would be as it is today except:

Thousands of people would be alive and not have life changing injuries on all sides

Billions of dollars would not have been wasted

There would not be a lot of corrupt Afghans living in luxury in the west with their ill gotten gains

The Chinese would not control the lithium deposits

The Taliban never as I recall showed any interest in external affairs, they just wanted to keep Afghanistan in the Middle Ages

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

and without the West's meddling, drug prices on the streets in the UK would be lower.

Seriously, another big fck-up. Especially after Vietnam, you'd think after entering any future conflict, some serious thought would be given to having an exit-strategy.
We are still seeing the effects of The Gulf wars with religious fanatics still waging war on The West.

There was once a King of Afghanistan. Who decided to move his country into the 20th century by building a dam and creating hydroelectric power.

Problem was that by lowering the water level, it effectively rendered the soil useless for almost all normal crops. Except for poppies.

The law of unintended consequences writ large...

The rest is history.

After 9/11 we had to get Al-Qaeda and Bin Laden. Even Islamic countries understood that response. Once the Taliban refused to hand him over it was the one war I think was justified from that period.

However, the implementation and decisions were pretty much a disaster.

Just yet another example of the hubris of control freaks costing countless lives and treasure.
