Don't agree with that. Agreed that Ayew has been great, and has proved his worth to the team. Zaha is a great player who can create opportunities out of nothing. It will definitely give us a boost for the last few games.

Awesome (unrecognizable) performances against Saints and Leeds. Significantly less effective performances against Leicester and Everton.

Have we reverted to our old way of being great travelers? I guess we'll see tomorrow...

Back to the Royball of his second season with just 5 home wins but 9 away wins (Incidentally including one at Wolves!).

The way Everton set up to be so negative it stifled the life out of the game. No surprise we had more freedom away from home. Wolves will be interesting to see if we can produce a performance like the second halves against Leeds and Soton but against a better team

Wilf, has always been an exceptional player, fading a bit now , but still possibly our best striking option. Ayew offers a much higher work rate, lower goals, but not that much lower than any of the so called forward players, the point being apart from the occasional strike the others don’t actually contribute more than Ayew. Ayew for two or three seasons now has been in the top three most fouled players in the Premier league, alongside Wilf, and Jack Grealish, this is not a statistic he would have if oppositions had any other answer to him. Any criticism should be the team don’t make more of his hard work.

There has been some fustigation aimed in the direction of the referee but in the final analysis he was not responsible for a lacklustre performance by our team or the fact that we were unable to attain all the points.

I would humbly suggest that had we emerged victorious, John Brooks would not have featured significantly in this debate and the narrative would have gallivanted down a different path.

HOL will be a ‘Willo free zone’ for a few days as I entertain some visitors from abroad. I hear a cacophony of ‘Hooray’ !!
