Clubs should be more community minded and offer this opportunity to kids as way of giving something back and making their day. Not everything should be a crass way to make a buck when fans pay enough as it is.

As a sentiment your not wrong, unfortunately PL = big money to be a part of it, every revenue stream needs to be considered to make it pay to the max - I bet if anyone has the time to research it , these days you would probably have to go quite a long way down the football pyramid to find clubs doing the mascot thing for free - I know we used to do the "kids for a quid" initiative when we were in the Championship & playing against unfashionable opposition - No chance these days when the stadium is a virtual sell out for every game - Originally posted by footythoughts

In my opinion, long term, we need to grow our support in the local area. Let's face it, the area's full of pretty deprived kids. I know most of us also come from the area but from my experience the majority of us have left. I'm personally from Bromley but live in Ireland. When I go to matches I note most are travelling to the ground and not living in the area. It is what it is but local area kids should be our future support. Get them when they're young and they could be the us of the future. We should be everywhere in South London, not Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The article states FROM £100-£375. This price depends on status of opposition, which player they want, whether a kit is included, hospitality included, how many match tickets needed for family/friends. I know this because if you look at my profile pic, that's my daughter as mascot away to Newcastle. How much did you get for her ?

Damm, you spotted that. Yeah, 35 now, gold I feel old. Alan Smiths last game, lost 3-2, Downe got both of ours & it snowed. Great day though, She has no interest in football & nor has my grandson. It's a shame we can't force them. I bribe mine.
