Vieira was fine when things were going well, but seemed to lack courage/confidence when things were going badly and we ended up looking even worse, carrying zero threat to the opposition. Roy has always been a cautious manager, more concerned with stopping the opposition rather than taking the game to them. Things look good under Glasner currently, but the true test will be when there is a spell of adversity which there inevitably will be. I heard Pardew on the radio yesterday and he said, without any bitterness, that he thought things would have been fine for him at Palace if the club had persevered with him.

Things were going well because the new signings were in, Gallagher had a good first half of the season, and the Ex-Roy players had some decent coaching still in them, after that the team and management reminded me of Mel Brooks Classic, Blazing Saddles

Pardew who has had more clubs than Tiger Woods.

If that were true, he'd be coaching in the uk's top tiers then...

Pardew started well, but 2016 was about as bad a calendar year as the club have had. 6 wins in 36 having been something like 4th in the league going into Christmas 2015. Allardyce came in, the squad was so bad that 'the Sunderland game' happened, then he signs Schlupp, Luka, PVA, Sakho on loan, and within weeks we've won at Anfield, Stamford Bridge and done Arsenal 3-0. I don't know how Pardew can think he would have turned it around - we were charging towards relegation - utter s*** for an entire year. Getting to the cup final probably bought him about 6 months longer than he deserved.
