Roy got the subs right as well. Giving that all important 20mibs to some players. Makes them all feel part of the win. I also liked the fact that he went and shook hands, just before the final whistle, with every one of the players and staff in the box on the touchline - a lovely, thoughtful gesture and a great way to make them all be part of the win. That's man-management

I liked Roy's post match interview where he sounded a little note of caution. "That's Roy", I thought, and of course he's right - there are still games to play and to be won.

My guess and only my opinion is worse, Wilf would have turned it into a him vs Ayling show and stroping and sulking everytime he got fouled, i think as a team we played better overall without him. Ronaldo has the same affect on every team he plays for . I agree with this and said it on here during last week. Away fans love to hate him and he keeps them riled up and full back always raise their game for the battle. I think it also plays into our favour for Southampton away

Aye show some respect Originally posted by eagleman13
Got to call you out over this, his name is ROY with n 'R'. Why people find it funny, even now to take the pi$$ out of someone's speech impediment is wrong. He is our manager & should be afforded the RESPECT he deserves.

Me too as we have pattern of play since i started by in 69/70 which is based on solid defence hard, working midfield, wingers and 1 or two strikers depending on opposition. Works for me Originally posted by SwordFish
I think this maybe the plan … and I’d be all for it

Wow, what a wonderful win and a cracking 2nd half performance. However, a note of caution - in the 1st half we were completely overrun at times and we did look pretty clueless. We struggled to get Eze and Olise into the game and i thought our defending down our left was comical - we must have known at Ayling was going to bomb forward yet Ayew never tracked his run. Both teams looked vulnerable at every set piece. When we scored on the stroke of half time i did wonder if the game would be similar to the home game earlier in the season where Leeds ran out of steam in the 2nd half and so it proved with spades! Really pleased for Ayew and Edouard asd both needed a goal. Eze and Olise proved what we already knew, they are class acts when they get the ball in the right positions. If they can become more consistent performers the top 6 will come calling. With about 5 centre midfields on the bench still a little puzzled Jeff gets the starting nod but you can't argue with the last 2 games.
