Edited by Willo (02 Apr 2023 9.31pm) Your memory is fantastic, for a ripened hidalgo - to remember the most minute of details... most piquing. I can see why one may assume you to be supercilious - don't fear, such humour is not truant yonder most, even if at times it can appear a chimera, multifarious as it is. On a serious note, I do enjoy your musings and you do need to be on a podcast though, mate - I would enjoy that... We all would.

Souttar was probably lucky to stay on the pitch. I think he blatantly pulled Mateta back that was missed by the ref not long before he scored.

It seems that the number of teams employing dark arts to stop the other team playing & simulation tactics to gain advantage(s) of their own has grown significantly in the last couple of seasons, I guess with the stakes being as high as they are these days it was a trend that was inevitable with the on field punishments not matching the crime (as opposed to the chances of getting away with it & the favourable outcome of the event)

He was certainly trying to pull him back as he scored but I don’t recall the incident you are referring to. Doesn’t mean it didn’t happen of course. But in all honesty it is me you need to thank for both goals having on both occasions taken a leak

I did the same against Utd just before half time, I nipped off to pee & grab a beer only to arrive in the bar in time to see the Fernandez on the screen celebrating - needless to say I dont leave my seat during the game anymore unless I really have to & then only when passage of play appears to suggest there is no imminent danger - ( like when someone has just put the ball into row Z) Originally posted by Bexley Eagle

The referee was in a good position to see the incident.I suspect he saw the shirt pull but Mateta was bearing down on goal in a good position to score and of course he netted with some aplomb. The referee played a jolly good 'Advantage'.

A podcast would confirm that I am truly in the dusk of life, a fusty old bore and a cure for insomnia.

What a great performance from the boys on Saturday as everyone played well.Pleased especially for Wardy and Schlupp who get slot of negative comments on here.I must be a lucky charm this season although not a season ticket holder any more I went on Saturday and my last home game was our last home win against the Saints in October.I also went to Brentford away where we should have won but didn’t lose so unbeaten in three Palace games.I do feel sorry for PV but so pleased for Roy and his master stroke of turning around our play to a more attractive attacking style.

I am all too familiar with visiting the toilets immediately prior to taking my seat only to realise about 5-10 minutes after kick off that I need to go again! I've also spent my fair share of time in the stands at Selhurst hoping someone goes down injured, the floodlights go out, anything for a good excuse! Unfortunately, us taking a two-goal+ lead would qualify but very rarely occurs.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
