DEAD
Bet she didn't see that a'comin',..

"TV astrologer Margaret Lake, better known as Mystic Meg, has died aged 80.

She was a well-known TV figure in the 1990s, appearing on the National Lottery, and has written horoscopes for the Sun for more than two decades.

According to the newspaper, Lake died in the early hours of Thursday morning after being admitted to hospital last month after suffering from flu.

Her agent Dave Shapland said: "Without any question, she was Britain's most famous astrologer by a million miles." (BBC website)

I disengage, I turn the page.

A million miles ahead of Russell Grant and, er, all the others.

It astonishes me that there are people who still actually believe in horoscopes.

She did. It paid her bills.

Hitler and Homer Simpson, both being Taureans, could check the paper to see what kind of day to expect.

Modern day Nostradamus. I believe there was some entertainment value when she appeared with Anne Diamond on whatever daytime show. Those were the days - RIP.

I certainly do not fit into that category.

It really is tripe and onions.

On a visit to see Macbeth at the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon I recall being rather forthright with a lady when she enquired about my star sign and she did not appreciate my riposte. My dear wife did conclude I was somewhat gruff with her.A contretemps ensued and the lady disappeared into the mist like Banquo's ghost.

I recall an interview with a woman who wrote horrorscopes for a paper. Openly admitted she made them up... but...

Was addicted to them in other papers.

1st reaction Huh!
