Every now and then one of the bigger clubs seem to acquire although rarely play some South American talent in the hope they will be the next Pele or Maradona. Very rarely works out however I have been impressed with the young man. Equally rarely they immediately look as though they can perform let alone shine at the top level and he certainly looks capable if not already doing so.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Garnacho was born in Spain and was in the youth systems of both Getafe and Atletico Madrid. Man Utd signed him from the latter.

Club Atlético de Madrid, S.A.D., known simply as Atleti in the Spanish-speaking world and commonly referred to at international level as Atlético Madrid, is a Spanish professional football club based in Madrid that plays in La Liga. The club play their home games at the Metropolitano, which has a capacity of 68,456.

Garnacho claims Argentinian nationality and has represented their U20 team 5 times scoring 4 goals.

I accept he claims Argentinan nationality, however he wasn't plucked from football in S.America and brought over to Spain, unlike Messi who arrived at Barcelona from clubs in Argentina.

Garnacho is certainly hugely talented and is impressing in the PL at the tender age of 18.I wish him well.

I recognise that Willo however I was suggesting it was a sentiment with the usage of the phrase 'South American talent' - hence the 'next Pele or Maradona'. In essence the admiration for South American players and therefore the sentiment being the motive behind signing them although it often masks the reality of their ability/potential. A slightly damning comment on footballing knowledge, you know, like the 'Hungarian Wayne Rooney'.

I was merely suggesting this motive may have been at play however Garnacho looks to be the 'full package' as opposed to just a fancy name some scout has put his money on.

least they can do surely

In all seriousness I found that loan bizarre , I never rated him for us I believe we only won 1 league game with him in goal and his only stand out performance was Brighton away last year .

Surely, they will have to do something for us? Perhaps will become clear next season.

Apropos Butland, he has hardly featured in a matchday squad. I believe he was amongst the substitutes in the 2-2 draw at Barcelona.
Tom Heaton is very much No 2 to De Gea.
